This series is similar in size and process to my abstract ink work. A thin wash, in either the form of a character, such as “Dragon” or “Snake” or “Monkey” or “Dog,” or “Life,” “Breath,” “Heart” (concepts rather than animal years) is brushed on to a piece of mulberry paper. After drying, the mark is detailed with small abstract calligraphic brush strokes. The drawings play with illustration of minuscule moments within a quick gesture. My ink abstracts are examples of the same process without literal meaning.
